Ciao! I'm Alessia

I’m a sommelier, teacher, and lifelong wine enthusiast. For over two decades, I’ve had the joy of sharing Italian wines with students, professionals, and wine lovers across two continents.

From Florence to Los Angeles and back again, my mission has always been the same: to bring Italy’s wine culture to the world!

I’ve got some solid creds to back me up too.

I’m certified by WSET advanced and the Associazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS), marking me as a real authority in wine and hospitality.

I studied Linguistics and Non-Verbal Communication in Milan and trained as an NLP Master Practitioner, so I know how to break down complex topics in ways that stick. Add in my time at the Tony Robbins Leadership Academy and Richard Bandler’s Persuasion Engineering program, and you’ll see why teaching is my happy place.

My wine journey started in Milan, took me to Los Angeles in 2006 where I co-founded and led the North American Sommelier Association, and now has me based in Florence — surrounded by Chianti vineyards, history, and endless inspiration.

Along the way, I’ve worked with names like Antinori, Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, and Gallo, and led seminars for students, sommeliers, and wine lovers across the U.S. and Italy.

These days, I teach at the Florence University of the Arts (FUA), where my classroom is the city itself. Together with my students, we step out into Florence — exploring wine history, laws, and marketing where they actually happened.

When I’m not teaching or tasting, you’ll probably find me rolling out my yoga mat, scuba diving somewhere beautiful, or hanging out with my 11-year-old son (who keeps me on my toes far more than any classroom).

So, if you’re ready to learn Italian wine with structure, clarity, and a little bit of flair — you’re in the right place. Salute! 🍷
